Hailing from a farming community called Empurkel, Nancy grew up playing on her family farm and at a nearby waterfall. She enjoys nature and agriculture; “I like planting cypress trees and flowers with my dad.”

Nancy is close with her family and believes her education was made possible through their encouragement and support. Nancy hopes to use her education to give back to her family.

Since coming to Kakenya’s Dream earlier this year, Nancy has enjoyed building new friendships and reading Kiswahili books. She also loves wearing her very first school uniform. When she grows up, she hopes to trade it in for a police uniform, aspiring to be a protector and keep her community safe.
