Patricia

Grade 6

Patricia, 11, is known equally for her volleyball and English language skills. She explains, “my previous school didn’t teach all the subjects, like music and English, so this school is where I learned English,” and it quickly became Patricia’s favorite subject.

Patricia says, “if it was not for this school, I couldn’t be the way I am now. Here, I’m healthy.” She is particularly grateful for the mentorship she’s received here. She has developed a close bond with her favorite teacher. “She listens to me and supports me. I’m comfortable talking with her about my home life and she makes me feel confident.” Through the help of her teachers, Patricia believes she is not only better able to manage her home life but is also taking important steps toward pursuing her dreams.

In the future, Patricia hopes to become a doctor and “help people with their health, growth, and mental capacities.” Her compassion is evident inside and outside the classroom. When she’s not studying, you’ll find Patricia training her classmates in volleyball.
