Yvonne

Grade 7

Yvonne, 13, joined KCE I in 2019 as a fourth grader. She and her five brothers are being raised by a single mother who works as a patient attendant at a medical dispensary.

Yvonne tells us that she always wanted to join KCE I because it is an all-girls school. “I feel more comfortable here. We get a chance to talk about what affects us as girls. As the only daughter in our family, I didn’t have that opportunity before. I love spending time with girls whom I now consider as my sisters.”

Yvonne, whose favorite subject is English, says she values education because it will enable her to become a heart surgeon and be able to help the sick in her community. She says her role model is her mother whom she described as encouraging and hardworking.
