Kakenya’s Dream Brings Internet Access to 34 Rural Schools

Today’s story represents one of the most significant expansions of our impact in Kakenya’s Dream history.

We’re bringing internet connectivity to 34 public schools across southwestern Kenya, providing digital access to over 10,000 students and teachers who have long gone without. These schools represent nearly one-third of all public schools in the subcounty, making this a significant investment in the region’s educational infrastructure.

Made possible through partnerships with Starlink for Good and the Good People, this investment, valued at more than $100,000 USD, reflects our growing commitment to strengthening education and investing in the critical infrastructure that underpins long-term development across our entire region.

It also represents a major step toward closing the digital divide. For much of the world, internet connectivity is so commonplace that it’s easy to forget millions of students are still learning without it. In many rural communities, some schools are only now gaining access to electricity. Internet access has remained entirely out of reach, leaving students and teachers cut off from the educational resources, digital skills, and opportunities that increasingly determine success in today’s world.

As technology transforms our world at an unprecedented pace, the digital divide continues to grow. Connectivity is no longer a luxury, it is the price of admission to the modern economy. It powers education, innovation, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and economic opportunity. By connecting these schools, we’re not simply improving classrooms; we’re investing in the futures of entire communities.

Achievements like this happen because of our incredible global community. Your support built Kakenya’s Dream into an organization capable of delivering change at this scale. This milestone belongs to you, too, and we hope you’ll join us in celebrating.
